Supply Chain Challenge ++

Supply Chain Challenge ++ (SCC++) 2019 took on the theme: “Riding on Digital Economy to Moving Ahead” with strong support from the following mentor-companies:

  • Shalom International Movers Pte Ltd

  • VersaFleet

  • WWW Cargo Pte Ltd

  • Yang Kee Logistics Pte Ltd


SCC++ 2019 was jointly organized by the SLA and the Singapore University for Social Sciences (SUSS) together with Geoworks as industry partner. The Opening Ceremony was launched on 26 April 2019 with an audience of 286 from various industry players, mentor-companies, lecturers and students from the following institutes:


  • Institute for Technical Education (East College)

  • Nanyang Polytechnic

  • Ngee Ann Polytechnic

  • Republic Polytechnic

  • Singapore Polytechnic

  • Temasek Polytechnic



Following the launch, the competition saw spirited participation from a total of 78 teams submitting their proposals to the 6 problem statements. A total of 18 teams were selected by a panel of industry veterans and academia representing the Association and SUSS. 3 teams to each mentor-company, they presented their proposed solutions to the mentor-companies which selected their finalists based on project feasibility and the team synergy. The 6 finalist teams were attached to their respective mentor-companies over 5 weeks to work on their solutions with industry inputs.


The 6 finalist teams made impressive presentations at the SCC++ 2019 Finals on 24 July 2019 and answered practical questions posed by the panel of stellar judges comprising academia from the SUSS School of Business namely, Dr Yap Wei Yim – Senior Lecturer and Dr Loh Hui Shan – Lecturer, and industry experts namely Mr Stanley Lim – SLA Honorary Treasurer and Mr John Iversen – SLA Council Member.

First Runner-up : Team JCUBES - Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Case Solution : Optimizing Island-Wide Deliveries & Operations for OMO to Hawker Centres

Mentor Company : Yang Kee Logistics Pte Ltd

Second Runner-up : Team Volte - Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Case Solution : Simplifying Southeast Asia’s Logistics

Mentor Company : Janio Technologies Pte Ltd

Finalist : Team Supply and Demand - Nanyang Polytechnic

Case Solution : Digitalise Order Management and Manpower Scheduling

Mentor Company : Sin Chew Woodpaq Pte Ltd

Finalist : Team Destiny - Singapore Polytechnic

Case Solution : Analyse and Improve the Last-mile Delivery for Food Distributor - Li Da Food

Mentor Company : VersaFleet Pte Ltd


The Champion - Team 4K from Singapore Polytechnic walked away with cash prize of $4,000. The First Runner-up - Team JCUBES and Second Runner-up - Team Volte, both from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, won cash prize of $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.

Mr Thomas Chee from Winspec Logistics Services who mentored a winning team in last year’s Challenge, gave a stirring illustration on how the company ensued to implementation the proposed solution with a technology partner, Ent-Vision under GeoWorks. This collaboration is a result of the industry track led by GeoWorks under the SCC++.
